What is Single Living?

Single Living is a unique website for singles. We provide an online community for anyone who is not currently in a relationship. On this site, you'll find a wealth of information and resources designed to help you get back on your feet, regain confidence and motivation, and relaunch your life. Some may decide they'd like to stay single for a while or permanently, while others will hope to find a new partner sooner or later. Whatever your goals, we are here to provide the support you need.

When was Single Living started?

Single Living was founded back in 1993 - over 20 years ago. Originally known as Single Again, we created a media buzz that lasted for several years. Back in the early 90s, although the divorce rate was escalating rapidly, break-up was still a taboo subject and 'sad singles' were a common target of stand-up comedians. Who is Single living for?

If you're on your own and feel that it's time to get back on top of life, then Single Living is for you! We've helped thousands of singles get back on their feet. We've supported people who were going through painful break-ups or who had recently lost a partner through bereavement. We've provided advice on dating and socialising as well as single parenting and solo travel. We even helped one member to reject a risible divorce offer from her controlling ex and win a far more appropriate settlement through the courts, using Legal Aid.

What makes Single Living different?

Unlike most singles and dating organisations, we promote a holistic approach to single living. We believe your best chance of achieving positive changes and enjoying long-term happiness lies in addressing problems, taking positive action and learning to stand on your own two feet again. In other words, you need a plan, or strategy. Simply hoping that through dating you'll meet the person who will make everything all right is often not a good plan - in fact it all too often leads to further disappointment and heartbreak.
